Help & support
Make yourself
at home.
A few simple answers to get your new tab just right.
Getting started
Install the extension through its official Chrome Web Store listing when available, then open a new tab. Open Settings to set your display name and greeting. Add a shortcut with the compact Add link tile, enter its name and web address, and save.
Want to look around first? Try the browser demo. Its settings stay in that browser; the installed extension has its own saved setup.
Layouts & widgets
Choose Centered for a simple homepage. Choose Widgets to arrange elements yourself. Enter Edit layout, drag a widget by its header and resize it from the corner. The content scales with the widget’s size.
Use Elements to show or hide items and adjust their appearance. Tidy up reduces empty rows. Undo restores a recent layout change. Choose Done to leave editing.
Themes & wallpapers
Open Themes and choose Built-in themes, My wallpapers or Library. You can keep up to five personal photos or videos on this device and switch back to a built-in theme without deleting them.
Photos can be up to 20 MB and 50 megapixels; MP4 or WebM videos can be up to 80 MB. Remove a saved wallpaper to make room when your collection is full.
In Library, use Search and categories to find developer-published wallpapers. Download saves a normal file. Save & use keeps a local copy and applies it as your background, including for offline use.
If a new library wallpaper is missing, choose Refresh. An upload appears in the public library after the publisher marks it Published; drafts stay private.
Weather & optional AI
Weather starts off. Choose a city in Settings to enable forecasts; the extension does not access your device location. Weather needs an internet connection.
For optional AI tools, open Settings → AI features and add a compatible provider and your own key. Use Get Groq API to open Groq’s API key console. Keys are sent to the provider for requests you make. Provider charges and terms apply. The ordinary homepage works without AI.
Backup & reset
Use Settings → Backup & help to export or import your setup. Provider keys are excluded by default. Wallpaper exports can include the active wallpaper; other saved collection files remain on the current device.
Reset clears this extension’s local setup, including saved wallpapers and drafts. Export a backup before resetting if you want to keep your setup. Resetting locally does not delete feedback already submitted to the developer.
Getting updates
Chrome automatically checks for updates to store-installed extensions. To check manually, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode and choose Update. Close active extension pages or restart Chrome if an update is waiting to install.
Published wallpapers and existing developer controls can refresh without a new extension version. Changes to the extension itself arrive through a Chrome Web Store update. Read the release notes.
Contact & feedback
In version 2.6, Feedback opens Chrome Web Store reviews, where you can share a public rating or review.
For a private bug report or suggestion, use Settings → Backup & help → Report a problem. An unsent draft survives a reload in the same tab; retries avoid duplicates. A successful submission shows a reference you can keep. Use it when asking about your submission or requesting deletion. Private reports are stored in the developer’s support inbox. Earlier versions use Feedback for this form. Read the privacy policy for details.
